RESCUE AND REHABILITATION OF TRAFFICKED CHILDREN
ROPES is specialized in preventing and addressing child abuses and exploitation specifically the children affected by trafficking, child marriage and child labour. It rescued and rehabilitated by mainstream in the regular school system or engages them in vocational training if the children are older. In addition, they are also being supported to write public examination as a private candidate AWARENESS ON CHILD RIGHTS AND CHILD PROTECTION As Child Protection is everyone responsibility, ROPES focused on prevention through creating awareness with the support of different media tools such as wall writings, posters, community theatre groups and mass media campaign etc.. The key themes of awareness program is on causes and consequences of Child Trafficking, Abuses, Child Marriage and Child labour to sensitize all stakeholders to prevent the issues at different levels (Family, School, Communities and Public Institutions) COMMUNITY BASED CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE In align with the Government Integrated Child Protection Scheme, ROPES initiated establishing Child Protection Committee and built their capacities to be able to identify issues, knowledge on mainstream system, policies and legislations related to child protection and refer the issues to the relevant systems and follow-up the cases. CAPACITY BUILDING OF DUTY BEARERS In order to create protective environment at all levels, ROPES organized capacity building program on child rights and child protection to the Mandal level Police Officers to sensitize them on the importance of Child Protection and practice the Juvenile Justice Act especially to treat the children in conflict of law in a friendly way and follow the JJ Act procedures. |
